An 8th grader at Cummings Middle School in Brownsville, Texas was killed by police today while brandishing a gun in the hallway of his middle school. The media reported that the student “engaged” the officer, and he was forced to use deadly force. The incident happened during the first hour of school, the hour that I teach is the most deadly hour of the school day. The school was then placed on lockdown, and nobody else was injured at the school. It is unclear if the student fired any shots, or what his motive was to bring the gun to school….

As is the case in this double murder. 19-year-old Erin Jehl, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was going to her ex-boyfriend’s home to pick up a dog, because they had recently broke up. She brought a friend with her,…

Phil Chalmers’ book “Inside the Mind of a Teen Killer” has inspired a college classs in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Students at Centenary College have a chance to take a very cool undergrad class, titled “Inside the Mind of a Teenage Killer.” After reading Phil’s book, Professor Dr. Christine Floether made the decision to use the book to base her class on. She said it’s a great intro to Sociology and Psychology, and each student must pick one teen killer, and do a research paper on that case, explaining why they killed using Phil’s “ten reasons why teens kill.” Phil was…
